Hey girlies, welcome back to Gospel Girlies, you know, the Gospel Center podcast for women. I'm your host, Angel, and around here we're about honest faith, real life, and choosing obedience, even when the road doesn't make sense, right? So get ready to have your hearts filled, your souls lifted, and your faith ignited. But before we get started, I just want to say thank you to those of you that are returning back to the podcast and welcome home to the new girlies. Hey y'all, hey! Um, and then also a special shout out to everyone who listened to the first episode and gave me feedback. It touched my heart to read and hear such light spoken into me in my podcast. Um, because this is new to me. Like I said on the first episode, me talking on the platform, he bjeebs. So thank y'all for those words of affirmation. It means so so so so so much to me. Keep them coming. Um, so so so so y'all, today, today, today, we are talking about obedience. I'm gonna say it again, obedience, um, and what that looks like to move with God even when the role feels unclear, uncomfortable, and a little scary. Boo. Um, oh, and before I dive deeper into what obedience looks like, I want to share something that I didn't get to mention in episode one, the real aha moment with this podcast. Um, so originally, you know, when it finally clicked for me, um I was outside, you know, at the library. Um, I had gotten a name, and then while I was inside the library, I went to chat. Yes, I went to chat, okay. Um, all of y'all that be, you know, talk about me using chat. I don't care. Um, chat be doing this thing sometimes. But I went to chat and I was like, hey, help me create a logo for my podcast. I gave chat the name. Um, I don't remember if I was like, hey, I want these colors or anything like that. I cannot remember. That was January. We're in February, anyways. Um, and you know, I typically when I ask chat to create an image for me, when it comes back, I be like, uh nah nah nah nah nah. That ain't it, chat. Try again. But this time, when the Zazan came back, y'all, and I seen the pink, the heart, the cross, it was like everything I felt in my spirit showed up visually in front of me. So I just remember sitting there like, wow, this is it, this is real, you know. So that was the moment that the podcast stopped being just an idea and started to feel like an assignment. And so what that moment showed me about being obedient is sometimes you just take one small step and then God will meet you right there. Cause He knows you, he knows that man, God knows I don't do platforms and talking. I don't even talk in person. So why would I talk on a platform? But you know what I'm saying? Like God was like, girl, relax. Do this podcast, like I told you to do. And I was like, okay, God, you know. Um, so that logo moment was really me learning what obedience really looks like. Because obedience isn't just about one decision, it's a daily choice to trust God, even when things don't feel clear. So today I have three big parts of obedience that I've been learning in real time and that I want to share with you guys. So if I'm being honest, obedience often sounds beautiful in theory. So beautiful in theory, but in real life, it can feel messy, uncertain, and even overwhelming, especially when you don't know what's coming next. Trust me, I know. So let's talk about what obedience really looks like in real life. So, my first point is trusting God without all the details. So, a lot of us say we trust God, including myself. I say it all the time, God, I trust you. And I'm really just now in a CD Z in where I say that and I actually mean it. So, but what we really mean is we trust Him as long as we can still see the plan. Okay, God, I see what we're doing. You see the light at the end of the tunnel, right? But I had to learn that lesson, you know, with this very podcast. Like when I first felt God nudge me to start Gospel Girlies, I didn't have a full plan. I didn't know how to record, I didn't know what platform to use. I didn't even know if anyone would listen, y'all. All I had was a name on my heart and a vision and a small feeling that said, do it. Like Nike, just do it. And if anybody knows, I'm a Virgo, and Virgos are planners. They got a plan A through Z. And you know, so me not having a plan about what this would look like, y'all. I'm just like, mmm, I don't know, God. You know, how we gonna do this thing? But, you know, it's literally like him holding his hand out, you put your hand in his hand, and y'all walk together, right? So I realized obedience doesn't always come with a step-by-step manual. Sometimes it just comes with a next step. I'm gonna say it again. Obedience doesn't always come with a step-by-step manual. Sometimes it just comes with a next step. So, trusting God without all the details looks like me saying, Okay, God, I don't see the whole picture, but I'll take the first step anyway. Which brings us to our second point. Moving before you feel ready. Oh my goodness, moving before you feel ready. You know, if I waited until I felt fully prepared to start this podcast, I'm not even gonna lie to y'all, it'll probably just still be a vision in my head and a couple words on the paper, right? Because if I'm looking at it, I didn't have professional equipment at first, I didn't have everything mapped out, I didn't even know how to edit audio. And y'all, I've had a time, I've had a time, man. But I still pressed record anyway. You know, like y'all know I've said it plenty of times. When I did episode one, I was nervous. I didn't know if my voice sounded okay, I didn't know if people would connect with it, but obedience meant doing it anyway, and what I learned is confidence didn't come before I started, confidence came after I obeyed, and even if I'm being honest, I'm still building my confidence as I continue to go through this process. Um, it's not an all-in-one thing, like it comes day by day, step by step, moment by moment. So that brings me to my third point, which is saying yes without seeing the full picture. Again, saying yes without seeing the full picture. Okay, again, this one is home for me too. Because when I launched the podcast, I didn't know what future episodes would look like, how many people would listen, if I would even be consistent. That word consistent because Lord knows I struggle with being consistent, y'all. I am not gonna lie to y'all, I really struggle with being consistent. Um, but all I knew was God placed it on my heart. So my yes really sounded like God, I don't know where this is going, but I'm going to trust you with it. And now seeing downloads come from different cities and even different countries. Yes, you heard me correctly, different countries. Um, I'm realizing God was working even when I couldn't see it. Whew, y'all, he has been working. I'm not gonna lie to y'all, he has really been working, and I appreciate him for that, for real. So if we bring all of that together, this is the takeaway. Obedience doesn't require full understanding, it just requires willingness. Um, and then like I said, I didn't fully understand how to build a podcast, but I was willing to try. And that willingness is what opened the door. Next, you know, faith grows while you're walking, not while you're overthinking, not while why I don't know where I was going with that, but yeah, not while you're waiting to feel perfect. And again, anybody that knows of Virgo, we have perfectionism running through our blood, running through our veins, running through our mind and our fingers and our feet and everything like that. So, you know, I learned more by actually recording episode one than I ever would have by just planning it. And finally, God reveals more as you move. So each step I've taken from creating the logo to recording to publishing to sharing it with the world, God has revealed the next piece. So clarity didn't come first, obedience did. So, and honestly, if I'm being honest, y'all, that's not just true for podcasts, it's true for anything God calls us to. So, for you, maybe it's starting something new, having a hard conversation, and baby, do we be avoiding them hard conversations? Stepping out in faith, letting go of something comfortable. Yeah, you heard that letting go of something comfortable. Um, because I know me, I love being comfortable, I love being in the comfort of my own home, I don't like putting myself out there, you know, because that allows me to feel safe. I don't have to worry about being rejected, I don't have to worry about anything crazy going on because I'm safe in my home, cuddled up in my bed, wrapped in my Winnie the Pooh blanket, watching my law and order, it's be you, being safe. So, whatever it is, obedience will usually ask you to move before you feel ready. So, I got some reflection questions for you guys. Number one, what is God asking you to do right now? Again, right now, not in 30 minutes, not in an hour, not two months from now, not in 2027, right now. Think about that. What is he asking you to do right now? Secondly, what step are you hesitating to take? Is it that first step, the the the third step, the tenth step? Which step are you hesitating on y'all? And I'm gonna just go ahead and say it right now. Move forward, okay? Move forward, just do it, okay. Again, like Nike, just do it. Um, and then third question is are you waiting for clarity when God is asking for trust? Yeah, that was deep, y'all. I know. So, thank y'all so much for listening. I don't take it lightly that you chose to spend your time with me today.
